Why do you want to focus on changing your lifestyle and eating habits?

Date

• Your doctor warns you that your weight can become a serious health concern.

• Your partner insists you join a Gym or start a weight loss program together.

• You make a deal with yourself to eat healthier so you can impress your friends and family.

ODDS ARE IF YOU HAVE HAD THESE KINDS OF EXPERIENCES, YOU’VE BEEN UNABLE TO MAINTAIN CONSISTENT, LONGLASTING WEIGHT LOSS…

…….. Maybe you lost a little when you first started…….

………Saw a bit of change in your physique…….

………And even started to feel more determined about your effort.

BUT AFTER A FEW GOOD DAYS, OR EVEN WEEKS, YOU FOUND YOURSELF RIGHT BACK IN THE SAME OLD SELF-DESTRUCTIVE EATING HABITS AND ROUTINE.

Perhaps you didn’t try hard enough….

So you try again, telling yourself that you will succeed this time.

You choose a proven meal regimen and exercise program.

But every day it seems to get harder and harder to push yourself.

And soon enough, you find yourself in another slump……. .

If you are trying now to lose weight, or have tried in the past, you can probably relate to the scenario above.

THE REALITY IS: THE PROBLEM YOU EXPERIENCE, HAVE LITTLE TO DO WITH THE SPECIFIC DIETARY PROGRAM THAT YOU FOLLOWED.
THE DETERMINING FACTOR IS THE TYPE OF MOTIVATION THAT DROVE YOU TO TRY AND LOSE WEIGHT IN THE FIRST PLACE…..

THE QUESTION THAT YOU MUST ANSWER FOR YOURSELF IS NOT WHAT YOU MUST DO TO LOSE WEIGHT.

THE QUESTION IS RATHER WHY YOU WANT TO LOSE WEIGHT?

Do you want to do it to look more attractive to your spouse or partner, or because you envy other  people’s appearance, or because it is so embarrassing to look at outfits in boutique windows, just to realise that you can’t wear it ??

If some of the above are your motivators, no WHAT will help you… and the reason is plain and simple:

As long as you want to change to keep others satisfied, or to impress other people, or to look like the models on social media, you are focusing on motivators from outside yourself.

There is a big difference between “extrinsic” motivators (coming from outside yourself), and “intrinsic” motivators (coming from inside yourself).

Extrinsic motivators like trying to impress other people, can help to “kickstart” your weightloss program, but will not be sufficient to reach your goals, or to keep you from sliding back.

For a permanent change and sustainable results, you have to identify intrinsic motivators from within yourself (eg to develop a body image and self-image with which you yourself will be happy and satisfied).

The good news, however, is that when you can develop your own intrinsic motivators, the process will be easier than what you may think now!

“If this short introduction makes sense to you, and If it has become a priority for you to change your eating habits and lifestyle, please read the follow up Blog which explains how to identify and apply your Intrinsic Motivators, with proven results as outcome.”

REMEMBER:  IF YOU KEEP ON DOING WHAT YOU ALWAYS DID, YOU WILL GET WHAT YOU ALWAYS GOT!
